Immunization Action Program
Ledge Light Health District’s Immunization Action Program focuses on birth to two-year-old children in New London. The goal of the program is assuring children receive immunizations.
The Immunization Coordinator, Jan Loomis, offers training to medical providers regarding updated vaccine information. She also tracks immunization records in the State’s Connecticut Immunization Registry and Tracking System (CIRTS). Most children born in Connecticut are entered into this system at birth. The system monitors the child’s primary immunizations of 0 to 2 year olds and allows the Immunization Coordinator to identify children who may be late in receiving a vaccine. She attempts to locate these children and connect their parents with information regarding vaccines and access to medical providers.
Please visit our Communicable Disease Prevention Section for more information about Immunizations.
The Immunization Action Program is funded by the Connecticut Department of Public Health.
