Ledge Light Health District is seeking an experienced and energetic Community Health Educator to help launch an African American Health Council, a new initiative for partnering with community organizations to help prevent cardiovascular disease and reduce mortality due to heart attack and stroke among African Americans. The successful applicant will have a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health, Education or a related field; proven experience in coalition building, program implementation, and managing media campaigns, especially those targeting minorities or other population segments; demonstrated excellence in leadership, organization management, written and verbal communication skills, public speaking and teamwork; knowledge of the principles and objectives of the new African American Health Council; and an ability to align those objectives with the strategic direction, mission and priorities of the District.
